Abbott and Costello Meet The Keystone Cops Bud Abbott Worn Keystone Cop Uniform Tunic
Abbott and Costello Meet The Keystone Cops Bud Abbott Worn Keystone Cop Uniform Tunic - In the early 1950's, riding high on great box-office success, Abbott and Costello began a series of "Meet The" films (as in "Meet Frankenstein", "Meet The Mummy", etc.). One of their most beloved is "Abbott and Costello Meet The Keystone Cops" (1955), taking place in 1912 where the "boys" buy a Hollywood movie studio. It was a brilliant homage to the glory days of the start of silent films, especially those of legendary Mack Sennett (who actually plays himself in the film!). With a better than average plot and dialogue (it was written by John Grant who wrote the famous "Who's On First?" routine), and the inclusion of many of the surviving members of cast and crew from the golden age of the "flickers", this became one of their top box office successes. This is one of the actual "Keystone Cop" uniform tunics worn by Bud Abbott in the film. It includes the original Western Costume label with "Bud Abbott" typed in.
