Oil on Canvas. Title is Hairy Moccasin. 16 1/4" by 20 1/8". Aaron Hazel (Born 1984) is active/lives in Washington. Aaron Hazel is known for Portraits of Indians, sports figures and wildlife, neon light city scenes, landscapes. Aaron Hazel is a full-time artist based in Kirkland, Washington, A fine Arts major from Whitman College, Hazel moved to the Pacific Northwest upon graduating to focus on oil-painting. Hazel’s work eventually caught the attention of various galleries and corporate entities. He has also been featured in television spots, publications, and in the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. A former college basketball player, Hazel's initial body of work centered around the art of athletics. Hazel's recent work focuses on the Old West. Implementing a palette knife and brush techniques, Hazel paints wildlife who pique his curiosity. He also paints minorities of the Old West, whom he feels are vastly underrepresented in general academia. An avid "student of the game" Hazel enjoys taking trips to his home state of Idaho to learn from and assist in the workshops of impressionist Robert Moore. Currently, Hazel’s work can be seen in galleries in Coeur d’ Alene, Whitefish, Missoula, Bozeman, and Jackson Hole. His work can also be viewed on the corporate walls of Starbucks, Facebook and Nike.
