Lot of 6. 1) 1919 Tucson City Directory. Contains an alphabetical list of private residents and business firms, a classified business directory and complete householders guide. Also has a numerical telephone guide. Is tabbed for F.E.A. Kimball, Stationery, Books, Office, and School Supplies at 123 E Congress St. Rebound in blue cloth. Some staining to the cover. 2) 1923 Tucson City Directory. An advertisement for B.Z. McCollough (Life Assurance Society Agent) reads: "This Directory is Wrong! because some whose names are herein listed as residents of Tucson, are now recorded in the directory of the dead." His motive is to make members out of Tucson residents in the Directory of Eternity. "Play SAFETY FIRST." Covers with printed advertisements in red and black. Messenger Service tabbed. "Front Desk" inscribed on front. Splitting at spine. 3) 1924 Tucson City Directory. Includes street guide compiled alphabetically by street names, each street showing house numbers in numerical order and numerical telephone guide. Covers with printed advertisements in black and red. Blue, pink and crème sheets. 4) 1926 Tucson City Directory. Includes "Facts about Tucson" at front. Population in the prior year (1925) grew more than 6,000 from the preceding year to 33,800 residents. Tucson and Pima County were purchased from Mexico in 1854 in the Gadsden Purchase. Gadsden was the name of the Secretary of State who planned the treaty in 1853 [Barnes, Will C., Arizona Place Names, 1988]. Hardbound Covers with printed advertisements in black and red.
