Lot of 6. 1.)Cone Mining and Milling Company Stock. Oatman. CertNo.#381 for 200 shares issued to M.P. Graff in 1916. Signed by Hugh Sparman, secretary and J.P.Eaton, President. Gold border & seal. Red 4 cent revenue stamp affixed top right. 2.) Gold Road Mines Company Stock. Incorporated in Maine. Cert No. 4 issued to C. A. Hight for 1 share issued in 1911. Hole punch cancelled. Green border and background with embossed seal. Signed by officers, illegible due to hole punches. Partial receipt is still attached at left. Mines: Gold Road Mines Company, 2 miles north of Oatman. Gold was stumbled upon by mistake around the turn of the century. By 1903 mining was in full swing as the Gold Road Mining and Explorations Company began development of more than a dozen claims. Well over $2 million dollars of ore had been produced by 1907 and in the 1930’s production was recorded at $7.3 million. The depression had a great impact on mining development and the post office closed in 1942, leaving behind a ghost town. 3.) Montezuma Milling and Transportation Company Stock. Vignette of a train upper center. 4.)Gilt Edge Mines Company Stock. 1915, Cert No. 1482 for 1000 shares issued to C.M. Pedley in 1916. Signed by S.W.Klass, secretary and E.A.Burns, President. U/C. Mines: Oatman, Mohave County. Gold mining in the area started in 1902 and produced over 2 million ounces of gold, which would be worth today over a billion dollars. Slight browning at folds, small holes, otherwise very good. 5.)Telluride Mining, Milling and Development Company Stock. San Francisco Mining District. Cert No. 1725 for 1000 shares issued to Geo. G McKay. In 1919. Signed J.L. McIver, president; and Byron Campbell, secretary. Receipt still attached at left with red 10c stamp affixed. 6.)Telluride Mining, Milling and Development Company Stock. San Francisco Mining District. Cert No. 1393 for 100 shares issued to Collin Bretherton in 1919. The company owned 14 gold claims at Oatman. The property was developed by a 580’ shaft.
