Lot of 11. One letter is undated. All the letters are from Ella Shute to Lou (Louie Earle Williams). Many of the letters in this group are just catching Ella up on the goings on in Hayden’s Ferry. Some of the items of interest in the letters talk about the how the population of white has grown from, none to 9. Ella reports that there are 50 white families from Tempe to San Bernardino, CA. Also there seems to be some dogs on the loose that are going after cattle and pet animals. Ella’s husband and father have struck what they think to be a good mining claim. Ella also had a baby boy who they named George Walter and weighed 9 pounds. She was only 17 years old when she had him. The letters are in good condition and easy to read.
