Most of the mineral species in the following list are supergene products - that is formed by weathering processes on primary copper bearing sulfides, This process leads to copper enrichment, making these deposits economic to mine, and also results in beautioful crystalline forms. Specimens include azurite, bisbeeite (not formally recognized as a mineral), bornite, brochantite, chrysocolla, cuprite, higginsite, mallachite, shattuckite, stromeyerite, tenorite, and willemite. Within this lot are beautiful examples of secondary native copper from Ray showing well developed crystalline form, in addition to spectacular azururite euhedral crystals and malachite from the Copper Queen Mine. Sample locations also include Bisbee, Miami, Chloride, Ajo, the New Cornelia, and Mammoth Mines. Many of which are modern day super pits, though the samples in this lot have long been processed making them very attractive to both the historical collector and mineralogist. Samples range from 1/4 to 3 inches in diameter.
