Lot of 4. 1) Fischer, Ron W., Ed. The Tombstone Business Directory: 1880-1884. Facsimile Edition (2002) of the full Tombstone, AZ directories. Shows many individual advertisements for businesses operating in Tombstone during this time including soda works, hotels, stables, wagon makers and blacksmiths. In October of 1880 there ran a "Grand Concert" at Gird's Building at Fourth and Fremont [Martin, Douglas D. Tombstone Epitaph, p. 43]. The area of Fourth Street and Fremont also housed other businesses including a barbershop, notary, and the Union News Depot that sold stationery, cigars, and tobacco. Just up the street, Mac's Restaurant and Chop House was run by James McGrath [from the directory]. 2) Arizona Business Directory and Gazetteer photocopied and loose leaf. Includes the Arizona Territory County, City, and Town Officers with additional listings of mining districts and associated superintendents (with appendix.) 3) Pacific Coast Directory for Arizona Territory, 1880-1881. Photocopied loose leaf facsimile. The directory listed over 35,000 names in the Western states and territories, though only Arizona is included here. The introduction to the Arizona section states that the territory mountains "team[ed] with minerals, [though] very few had the courage to face the trials incident to a settlement there." Also includes Arizona sections from McKenney Directory Co. From San Francisco, CA and the Arizona section of the Mercantile Guide Business Directory, 1904 Ed. The 1905 City Directory for Gallup, NM is also included. All loose leaf held in a yellow paper envelope. 4) Great Register of Pinal County (1886-1911) photocopied facsimiles (though a few years are missing.) Initial printing of the Register was completed at the Office of the Arizona Citizen. Lists Country of Nativity and whether or not naturalized. Pinal County was formed in 1875. Pinal means "deer" in the Apache language. The Apache of the area were called "Pinalleros" by the Spanish [Barnes, Will C., Arizona Place Names, 1988].
