President Davis photograph is circa 1864, taken while president of the Confederate States by photographer Vannerson in Richmond, Virginia. First Lady Varina boldly signed “<I>as ever your devoted friend Varina Davis</B></I>.” Her photograph was taken around 1867 when they traveled to Canada and then to England before returning to Memphis.
