Included is an FDC commemorating Edgar Allan Poe with attractive cachet, postmarked in Richmond Oct 7, 1948. Signed by historical novelist <b><font size=-1>Alex Haley</font></b> (1921-1992). Plus unlined cards signed by best-selling novelists <b><font size=-1>Tom Clancy</font></b> (b. 1947); <b><font size=-1>William Peter Blatty</font></b> (b. 1928); and <b><font size=-1>Peter Benchley</font></b> (b. 1940). Also, TQsS on cards by Nobel Laureates Günter Grass, penned beneath “<i>The job of a citizen is to keep his mouth open</i>”; and <b><font size=-1>Elie Wiesel</font></b> (b. 1928), who signs beneath “<i>There are victories of the soul and spirit. Sometimes, even if you lose, you win</i>...” Plus a vintage SP [White], b/w matte, overall 5"x7½" half length portrait of poet <b><font size=-1>Edwin Markham</font></b> (1852-1940), adding sentiment and “<i>1935</i>.” Lastly is a signed card, approx 3½"x2½", by novelist <b><font size=-1>Mary J. Holmes</font></b> (1825-1905), with sentiment, adding religious quote on verso. All boldly penned. Fine.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
