SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Steyr. S# 14949. Bbl. 5 1/4". Roth-Steyr Model 1907 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Hungary by FEG. Top of the solid bbl. rib is marked "FEGYVERGYAR BUDAPEST". Rear of frame is stamped "W-n (AUSTRIAN EAGLE) 12", indicating Austrian military acceptance in 1912. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish or being polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, with the right grip being Austrian unit marked "15R/ 73", which appears to indicate issue to an Austrian Infantry regiment. Standard dovetailed blade front sight, with integral V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, as well as on the interior of the sideplate. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts to the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots and areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with light to mild degrees of surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Trigger retains a mellow gray patina overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2377/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
