<B>Stephen F. Austin Signed General Order.</B></I> Headquaters [sic] 27th October 1835. Stephen F. Austin, commander in chief of the Texas Volunteers, had this general order issued regarding general duties for the troops and officers. "The guard will be detailed & ordered to parade every morning at nine o'clock. The commandant of each company is positively ordered to turn out the officers & men from their respective companies... He and the officer of the day will then report to the Adjutant General, receive the countersign and instructions. He will then post the guard accompanied by the officer of the day."
