Large unsigned oil on canvas scene shows a group of women and children standing on and next to a large tall blue marking post with stone foundation. One woman holds small child with white outfit in arms. Behind the scene is a Maine type fisherman with fishing cap. Stucco buildings are seen in background with red roofs and one woman is standing tall next to blue post with three-draw extended telescope in hand. Housed in a magnificent carved wood leaf decorated gilt frame. The scene has many features reminiscent of Winslow Homer’s work. A fine dramatic scene of life at sea. SIZE: 54” x 39-1/2”.
