ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN GEORGE BROWN (American 1831-1913) BOY BLOWING BUBBLES…
Lot # 236 ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN GEORGE BROWN (American 1831-1913) BOY BLOWING BUBBLES Oil on canvas shows young street urchin seated on wood crate with mug in one hand and clay pipe held in the air upside down with bubble dropping from bowl. Fine detailed painting with a common theme by this fine artist. This painting is signed in the lower right "Brown NA". There is a hole approximately 1/2" x 1/4" before the "B" in Brown. We presume that this obliterates the first two initials of the artist name. Housed in what appears to be its original gold gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 14" x 10". CONDITION: Painting appears to be untouched. It has three small holes and one 1" tear. Otherwise, very good. 9-93045 (4500-5500)
