Stedman / 1767” : a very good copy. The second edition of this controversial work, first published 1686, on the teachings of the church fathers. It remained on the Index till 1948. Dupin (1657-1719), a French theologian of Gallican sympathies, whose vast 'Nouvelle Bibliotheque' aroused much opposition, notably from Bossuet.
