Coloniae Agrippinae [ Cologne], apud Constantinum Munich, 1640 [- 1642]. 2 vol. in-f° : [12 dont titre gravé]-71-[1]-447-[19]; [4]-48-[2]-806-[24] pp., une pleine page, 2 titres spéciaux et 182 portraits (vol. 1 : titre presque dérelié, traces d'un cachet illisible, faible tache jaune sur une fig.; vol. 2 : manque le titre, le 4e ff. lim. et Gg2 comportant un portrait, marges des ff. lim. rudimentairement renforcées; en gén. : qqs faibles mouill., qqs pîqures éparses, qqs ff. brunis). Rel. différentes : tome I. plein veau de l'époque, dos à nerfs (manques aux coins et coiffes, incision au contreplat sup.); tome II. demi-basane du 19e siècle, dos à nerfs (mors us.).
Edition originale et premier tirage des 182 portraits à pleine page de franciscains mémorables, figurés de plein pied dans des beaux paysages animés, gravés par les frères Joannes Henricus et Joannes Eckhard Löffler (portrait d'Anselme de Bologne manquant, pp. 233-234 soit f. Gg2 du vol.). L'ouvrage comporte en outre un titre gravé (sur deux), deux titres séparés ornés d' encadrements fleuris et une adoration de la Vierge . Son auteur, Charles d'Arenberg (1593-1669), fils de Charles duc de Croy, prenait l'habit des capucins à Louvain en 1616 et devenait un de ses plus éminents membres, tant comme administrateur que comme architecte (cfr. couvent de Tervuren et l'église de l'Ordre à Bruxelles).

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 EUR will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
