APOLLO 15 MOON-FLOWN $20 BILL: An excessively rare, superb Apollo 15 relic, a United States $20.00 bill, signed by the entire crew of Apollo 15, including: AL WORDEN, JAMES IRWIN and DAVE SCOTT. With a vintage T.L.S. by AL WORDEN on official NASA letterhead, 1p. 4to., Houston, Dec. 16, 1971, just months after the flight, attesting to the authenticity of the bill, in full: "...This is to certify that this $20.00 bill S/N K 03899817A was carried aboard the command module 'Endeavor' during the Apollo 15 flight to the moon 26 July - 7 August 1971". Also included is another COA by Worden, signed by him on February 5, 2002. Also included in the lot is a fine official NASA S.P. 8" x 10" color, showing AL WORDEN in pressure suit and boldly signed across the face: "To the moon and back Al Worden Apollo 15". The bill is in very good condition, with just slight smearing to Worden's signature. An historic space relic, with unimpeachable provenance! Three items in all. $2,500-3,500 293.1 APOLLO 15 FLOWN JAPANESE FLAG: An exceptional Apollo 15 flown relic, a 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" cloth Japanese flag carried aboard the Apollo 15 mission to the moon. The flag is set between two pieces of Plexiglas and atop a brass plaque with the mission's emblem It reads, in part: "This flag was flown to the Moon aboard Apollo 15 July 26 - August 7, 1971...Presented on behalf of [NASA] to the people of Japan at the opening of the Space Science Exhibition, July 15, 1978, as a token of friendship and esteem". The brass plaque shows slight oxidation with slight wear to the wooden mount, otherwise very good and likely unique. $2,500-3,500
