(APOLLO 13 FLOWN METAL COIN): An attractive (and somewhat ironic) "flown " relic of the ill-fated Apollo 13 flight, being a silver coin struck in commemoration of the aborted flight and praising the Apollo program. The coin measures approx. 1 1/4" in diameter with one side picturing an expected scene from the mission, with the verso bearing a relief image of the moon with the legend: "PROJECT APOLLO MAN'S GREATEST ADVENTURE". According to a copy of the certificate of authenticity (included), the coin: "...contains silver carried on the flight of Apollo XIII from April 11, 1970 to April 17, 1970. The minting...was restricted for presentation to all Apollo astronauts and for supporters of America's space program". The coin bears a slight bit of tarnish at edges, but is otherwise fine. $60-80
