Copper work pitcher and silver inlaid jug

With impressive Islamic caption for king al zalah

A 100 years old jug made of copper, set with silver, Islamic work.

Its basis is hexagon and the jug itself is decorated with thin silver Strips and Islamic captions which say:

"The king Al Zalah, the king of the land, the king of justice, the king of kings, brings the victory, beats his enemies". This caption is dedicated to the latest of the Ayovis kings that ruled around 1240 in Egypt, and his wife - Shgrat a Dor (pearl tree) became very popular when she inherited his place after his death.

After his death, the Mamluks ruled through his wife, because she was forced to marry the Mamluk officer - Az Adin Aybeq, who had ruled in Egypt since then for seven years (1250-1257).
