INFLUENCED BY WEINER WERKSTADT RETICULATED COVERED DISH


Offered here is an Antique Faience Majolica Cobalt Blue Dish with a Reticulated Lid, made by Josef Steidl of Znaim, Austria. Influenced by the Weiner Werkstadt of Vienna, unique footed form is heavily gilt with a hexagonal shape accented with raised convex reticulated filigree medallions. Lid emulates medallion with ornate pierced filigree and a flower top with ring handle. Interior of bowl is accented with delicately hand painted foliage.

Marked with a circa early 1900s "Josef Steidl; Znaim" and "Austria" brown mark. Incised "505", handpainted with "17".

Item is in excellent condition with only a 1/2" shallow chip on one foot and a 1/8" shallow chip on another foot tip.

Measures approximately 6" wide and 6" high.
