*ANSCHUTZ RECORD MATCH PISTOL MODEL 210. Cal. 22. Beautiful Martini action German free pistol with 11” tapered oct bbl, ramp front sight with wings and receiver mounted micrometer adjustable rear sight. It has a tiny checkered and carved forearm with beautiful adjustable free pistol, checkered and carved target grips. The top flat of bbl is matted, with the name “Louis D. Kernell” engraved about the middle. The right flat in the same area is marked “Udo Anschutz” with same name and address by the serial number on the rear of the frame. The frame is beautifully engraved with foliate arabesque pattern engraving having a very fine punch-dot background. The cocking lever is on the left side of the frame. It has a fully adjustable trigger with screw extension. It is accompanied by its original leather suitcase-style carrying case, which has what is presumed to be the original wood-handle cleaning rod in the lid. There is a small compartment in the lid, which contains a spare front sight, two spare hammer springs, and an action key with screwdriver and a chamber reamer. Another compartment in the body of the case contains a small cup of grease, a chamber brush and 3 U.S. military 30-06 headspace gauges. Accompanies is a sales receipt from Franz Merkel to 1st Lt. Louis D. Kernell dated July 6, 1945 for this pistol. Also included is an advertising page, in German for this pistol. Also included is a copy of the May 1948 issue of “The American Rifleman” which has an article on page 19 regarding slow-fire pistol shooting in which this model of pistol in mentioned. In addition, there are a number of papers regarding an order and delivery of a Smith & Wesson revolver. SN 6966. CONDITION: Very fine, retains about all of its custom restored finish to both metal and wood. Bright shiny bore. The case is fine also. 4-49438 JR353
