ANNIE OAKLEY SIGNED RECEIPT DATED 1888.
ANNIE OAKLEY SIGNED RECEIPT DATED 1888. Annie Oakley (August 13, 1860–November 26, 1926), became famous when her future husband Frank Butler bet $100 that he could beat anyone in a shooting contest. He lost the bet to Annie, but won her heart. They performed their own act for a while, which included Annie regularly shooting ashes off Frank's cigarette. They later joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West show in 1885. Ironically, her greatest source of wealth came in later years when William Randolph Hurst's newspaper created a false story that she was using cocaine. She sued Hearst and won, netting her a sum that allowed her to be a philanthropist. Professionaly Custom Matted and Framed. Comes with a Letter of Authentication from Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators (GFA), along with the GFA guarantee of authenticity.
