Selminth Parasite With Cable - Angel (1999–2004).
Selminth Parasites were a species of insect-like demons capable of inducing vivid hallucinations in their victims, regardless of them being human or vampires. Its teeth inject an anesthetic, making the host oblivious to its presence, and pumps neurotoxins into the body causing paralysis, hallucinations, and fever dreams. If this parasite were to continue pumping its toxins into its victim, this would leave said victim in a permanent vegetative state. Eve used two of these on Angel as part of her plot with Lindsey McDonald to bring Angel down.
Seen in the tenth episode of the fifth season of Angel titled "Soul Purpose" and the ninety-eighth episode overall. Written by Brent Fletcher and Elizabeth Craft and directed by David Boreanaz, it was originally broadcast on January 21, 2004 on the WB network. Spike is approached by Lindsey McDonald, using the deceased Doyle's name in an attempt to convince him that he is the vampire champion mentioned in the Shanshu Prophecy. Meanwhile, Angel slips into a feverish hallucinatory state in which he dreams that his destiny of redemption is claimed by Spike.
Angel is an American television series, a spin-off from the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The series was created by Buffy's creator, Joss Whedon, in collaboration with David Greenwalt. It aired on The WB from October 5, 1999, to May 19, 2004, consisting of five seasons and 110 episodes. Like Buffy, it was produced by Whedon's production company, Mutant Enemy. The show details the ongoing trials of Angel, a vampire whose human soul was restored to him by gypsies as a punishment for the murder of one of their own. After more than a century of murder and the torture of innocents, Angel's restored soul torments him with guilt and remorse. Angel moves to Los Angeles, California, after it's clear that his doomed relationship with Buffy, the vampire slayer, cannot continue. During the first four seasons of the show, he works as a private detective in L.A, where he and a variety of associates work to "help the helpless", restoring the faith and saving the souls of those who have lost their way.
