Rare “Andrew Jackson” Signed Vellum US Patent For A "Papillary shield or protector for ladies sore nipples"

ANDREW JACKSON (1767-1845). Seventh President of the United States 1829-37, unsuccessful Candidate in 1824 winning the plurality of votes but losing to John Quincy Adams by House decision, Major General and Hero of War of 1812.

April 2, 1835-Dated, Partially-Printed Vellum Patent Document Signed, “Andrew Jackson,” as President, Choice Extremely Fine. This original Patent document measures 12.5” x 14" being very clean and in excellent high quality, having a most pleasing overall appearance. "Old Hickory" was the first President to ride on a railroad train in 1833, just two years prior to signing this document. He also survived the first attempted assassination of a President in this same year of 1835. This Patent is issued to William Buxton for, "papillary shield or protector for ladies sore nipples" (a noble advancement to be certain). It is so original and fresh, this document retains its full official embossed paper and wax Federal Seal, with its pink silk ribbon attached and similar ribbon used along the left margin. A fine tip pen was used for writing, so the manuscript portions are somewhat light and the “Andrew Jackson” signature measuring fully 5” long, rates an “8” out of “10” being fully readable. A rare “Andrew Jackson” signed vellum US Patent, in superior quality.
