Cours : plein maroquin bleu-vert, cigognes en vol mosaïquées sur le plat sup. et cigognes dans un nid sur le plat inf., dos à 2 nerfs ornés comme les plats, doublures de maroq. jaune mimosa et listel de maroq. bleu col-de-canard avec jolies grenouilles mosaïquées aux angles, gardes volantes de soie jaune mimosa, doubles gardes de papier brun avec rehauts d'or et argent, tranches dorées, couv. illustrée et dos cons. Sous chemise en demi-maroq. bleu-vert à rabats, sous étui.
52 eaux-fortes en noir (11 hors texte et 41 bandeaux ou in texto) et une septantaine de bois en dégradé de couleurs gravés par Suzanne Lepère (bandeaux, vignettes, lettrines, culs-de-lampe...). Jolie mise en page dont les mots signifiants du texte rehaussés en rouge ou brun, titre courant en brun.
Tirage à 146 ex. num. et seulement 10 suites, un des 125 sur vélin d'Arches filigrané au nom de l'auteur et au monogramme de l'illustrateur (2e pap., n° 36). Édition d'une grande séduction dont le préfacier, président de sociétés de bibliophiles et ami de Rops, déclare : " [...] bravant toutes les traditions, [Lunois] plante la tache d'une eau-forte franche au milieu d'un parterre de bois en couleurs dont il peignit les modèles comme des ailes de papillons [...]. Parmi le texte noir, ça et là, passent des mots brillants comme des pierres précieuses. En même temps qu'ils égaient l'aspect de la page, ils y soulignent l'importance du verbe où l'écrivain accentue sa pensée".

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 EUR will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
