Kushan, Huvishka, Copper, 9.77g, Obv: King reclining on a bench, traces of Bactrian inscription around, Rev: Deity standing holding a diadem, Tamgha to left, Kharosthi legend "Yodhava…" to right (Not listed in Goebl or Mitchiner). Very fine, extremely rare.
An extremely unusual Kushan coin type – coins of this type bear an enigmatic Kharosthi legend on the reverse instead of the usual Bactrian one mentioning the deity's name. It is apparent that the coins were struck later in Huvishka's reign in the North-Western parts of his empire.
