Gupta, Chandragupta I, Gold Dinar, 7.89g, "Archer-Goddess on Throne" type, Obv: Nimbate king standing wearing tunic, holding a strung bow in one hand and an arrow in the other, Garuda banner in the background, Brahmi "Chandra" (inside the bow) below the hand holding the bow, Rev: Goddess seated frontally on throne, with diadem in one hand and the other holding a cornucopia, Brahmi legend "Shri Vikramah" in the right field and Tamgha in the left (S. Kumar# Class I, Var. B.2, Altekar Class I, Var. C). Very fine+, exceedingly rare.
These coins are previously known as Chandragupta II coins but in recently published Gigantic work on Gupta coinage by Sanjeev Kumar "TREASURES OF THE GUPTA EMPIRE" identify them as coins of Chandragupta I. These are an extremely rare type where legend "Chandra" is placed inside the bow (between the arch and the string of the bow).
