AN UNUSUAL LATE VICTORIAN ARTISAN'S HALL CHAIR, designed in an eclectic mix of styles in oak, mahogany and other woods, having three acorn finials on an open architectural pediment with turned balustroid supports, the open back pierced with interlocking 'Roman' arches above conjoined gothic-style arches with thistle-and-flower-carved pilasters, above a row of balustroid 'spindles' the solid seat between outscrolled arms on balustoid supports, on turned legs, front stretcher and pendant central ornament, the chair inscribed to the underside of the seat "Done By/D.R.Rees 1888 A.D/ 6 North Road, Aberayon/ By Trade Engineer.S."
