Signed l.r.c. Yeend King (Henry John Yeend King, British, 1855-1924). An English Victorian artist who spent most of his career in London, King painted numerous bucolic scenes depicting the serenity of the English countryside. He studied painting in London, and then in Paris with Leon Bonnat. In 1879, the Royal Society of British Artists elected King to membership; over the years he showed 115 paintings at Society venues. In 1886, he became an elected member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolor, later serving as vice-president; he was also a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil-Colors, and entered 94 paintings in various exhibitions of the Royal Academy of London. His paintings are in numerous collections including the Tate Gallery, London; Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool; Leeds City Art Galleries, Leeds and the Oldham Art Gallery, England. Sight size 19"h x 30"w
