The heavy steel stirrup hilt with rolled quillon, maker marked SESSO A TORINO and ebony grip with fingerstalls. The heirloom Persian blade etched at either side of the forte with a scimitar and crescent within cartouches. The blade forged of Persian wootz steel, the pattern well-defined and highly contrasted, with clipped tip. In its steel scabbard with profiled drag and sprung closure at the throat. First half of the 19th century. Very light wear. Overall length 91.8 cm.
