AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY ROYAL PRESENTATION BROOCH BANGLE;the detachable brooch modelled as a Tudor rose and set with old-cut diamonds with a portrait miniature of Queen Adelaide of England under a glazed compartment to the centre, mounted in silver and yellow gold to the gold and royal blue enamel hinged bangle engraved with foliate decoration and applied with gold Tudor roses, thistles and clover leaves, being the symbols of England, Scotland and Ireland, fitted hinged blue velvet hinged case with applied label for Rundell, Bridge and Comp;Given by Queen Adelaide to her nephew, George II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen (1826-1914) who in turn gave it as a wedding gift in 1850 to his wife, Princess Charlotte of Prussia (1831-1855); Thence by descent to the present owner;cf: Diana Scarisbrick, ANCESTRAL JEWELS, LONDON 1989, p. 80, pl 60
