Vienna, circa 1825 The rectangular leather-inlaid writing surface with crossbanded edge and recessed front flanked by two frieze drawers, on tapering square legs applied at the corners with spandrels, the superstructure with a central recess with mirrored interior with drapery to the top of the aperture and grapes and vines to the sides, the rear wall centered by a standing female figure, surmounted by a stepped platform, flanked by two rows of four short drawers and two doors, each decorated with a seated female figure within a triangular reserve, all separated by fluted pilasters, also surmounted by stepped platforms; to the reverse, the central section decorated with three arches, the center set with a male figure, surmounted by a pediment set with rampant griffons flanking a temple, the arches flanked by rectangular panels inlaid with eagles, festoons and animals bound to chariots, flanked by arched panels set with male figures 521/2 X 75 X 38 IN.
