AMPHORA AUSTRIA DRUM FORM VASE C EARLY 20TH CENT
CERAMICS: Vase, Amphora, Austria drum form with an open-mouth 71/2'' across the top with a rolled thick matted gold rim, the body of the vase contains two relief scenes: one is of a couple, the man preparing the soil and the women planting the seed surround by a wooded scene with a farm animal, the other a wooded scene having trees which rise within the scene and with a portion of the same farm animal visible in the corner. The two scenes are separated by wide gold matted vertical bans. The bottom narrows slightly to 6 1/2 having also having a gold matted band. The vase is finished in matted browns, creams and gold highlights. Marked with Crown indicating 1905 -1910, bearing the numbers 11561/44 and stamped with the words Austria and Amphora Note: There is minor surface glazing cracks on the inside of the lip of the vase and very insignificant rub marks on the lip indicative of the age. No cracks or chips noted. 12 ¬'' H, 61/2 D at the base and 7 «'' D at the apex.
