(AMERICANIZED INDIAN CHILDREN)
A great post-1900 photograph, 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" mounted to a heavy board mount, showing seven Americanized Indian children. The boys stand next to their bicycles while the girls are seated in pairs on rather unusual four-wheel vehicles. One Caucasian boy also stands in the image. The open field flanked by barns and houses strongly suggests that they are either on a reservation or possibly at the Indian school in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. No photographer's imprint. Very light soiling to the mount, very good.
