1) UNMARKED HALF STOCK PERCUSSION CONVERSION RIFLE. Cal. about 45. NSN. Bbl. 36 7/8" oct. measuring 1" across flats at muzzle. German silver blade front sight w/ fixed V notch rear sight. Unmarked trade lock & hammer w/ light floral engraving. Dbl. set triggers. Key fastened half length maple stock w/ checkered wrist & cheekpieces on both sides. Brass fittings include crescent buttplate, toeline, finger curl trigger guard, side plate escutcheons, key escutcheons, nose cap & faceted thimble. Right cheekpiece is ornamented w/ brass running fox. Left side plate ornamented w/ squirrel. Iron under rib w/ 2 plain pipes, ramrod is not present. Modern replacement nipple. CONDITION: metal has mottled gray appearance w/ light pitting & dents. Sanded & refinished stock is broken& repaired through wrist area. Lock & triggers function. Bore retains deep rifling. (01-18434/DS). 2) TOWER 1853 ENFIELD FOWLER CONVERSION. Cal. 60, rebored from 58. NSN. Bbl. 33" rnd. w/ smooth bore & bead sight. Lock is marked "TOWER / 1882" w/ crown behind hammer. Stock is altered to half length fowler configuration w/ pewter nose cap, & checkered wrist. Original brass fittings include buttplate, trigger guard & side plate escutcheons. Left ear of stock is stamped "C 76". Stock key & brass escutcheons are replacement. Hardwood ramrod is held by 2 plain iron soldered attached pipes, rear pipe is fitted w/ sling swivel. CONDITION: metal has mottled gray patina w/ pitting in breech area. Sanded & refinished stock shows dents & handling marks. Sm. crack behind lock. Bore is generally smooth showing some light pitting. (01-18435/DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $500-800.
