Lot of three presentation mugs and tumblers from Allied airmen, includes a trench art tankard made from a chromed 75mm. M5A1 howitzer shell casing and four other shell casings including a 20mm. casing, the front adorned with American pilot's wings, a bullet, and ordnance insignia, additionally engraved: "DORIE - BILL Eternally yours Australia Feb. 1944"; a presentation copper and silver plated tumbler awarded in a June, 1942 drill competition to a named flight sergeant by A.T.C. 1481 Squadron (Lambeth); and a tankard presented to Royal Army Medical Corpsman W. E. J. Mingo by the officers of 35 British General Hospital on disbandment, Singapore, Jan. 1, 1946. Very good. Provenance: The War Museum, New York.
