This is an elegant sterling silver tray by the well-known California silversmith, Allan Adler, whose high-profile clientele earned him the nickname, "The Silversmith to the Stars." This gorgeous circular tray has a lobed design with six panels that create a soft, naturalistic look with a finely curved, shallow rim. It has a beautiful hammered surface that accentuates the undecorated silver surface and minimal design similar to earlier Arts and Crafts silversmiths such as the Kalo Shop. This tray is in excellent condition and is the heavy gauge and quality characteristic of Adler's handcrafted silver items. It is stamped under the base with Adler's maker's mark, the word Sterling, and pattern number 111. It measures approx. 10" in diameter, and weighs 16 troy ounces. This beautiful Adler tray is lovely enough to stand on its own as a display piece, but is also remarkable functional as a serving piece or dressing tray. Please see a similar tray designed by Adler in a larger size, #BC263 that together would make a lovely set.
