Zhitomirsky's photomontages, such as the present work, were widely circulated in the form of anti-Nazi propaganda leaflets. Regarding this particular image, also translated as simply KILL HIM, Zhitomirsky said, "This photomontage looks like a very documentary photograph. It was put together very simply: pasted to a photograph of me is a photograph of a German soldier's uniform and helmet.
