ALBERT EINSTEIN
Einstein admits to one of his few weaknesses…

(1879-1955) American physicist whose Theory of Relativity and studies of mass and energy relationships revolutionized the field of physics. T.L.S. "A. Einstein" on his blind-embossed letterhead, 1p. 4to., Princeton, Dec. 11, 1947. In part: "...Thank you very much for your kind wishes and for the the cigarettes. They show that you have the right understanding for the weakness of men..." Trimmed at bottom with tape stains at margins - most would mat out. Einstein smoked constantly, and although he favored pipes, he was not one to turn down a cigar or even a cigarette.

Estimate: $1,000 - 1,500.
