<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>Overseer C. B. Harris writes somewhat ungrammatically to owner, Col. J. M. Neill, giving brief overview of conditions on his plantation. ALS, 2pp, 7½"x12½", Socopatoy, AL, May 1, 1837. In part, “<i>Your waggon arived here this evening with your negros, all safe without any accident whatever. I put 24 barrels of corn in it, the barrel shelt </i>[sic] <i>out 1 bushel and 2 qrts. I tried again to get my devil Anderson off but in vane, the old lady says he shall not go one foot for me nor you and further says she will have her negros up from down there. The fact is this she said so much that I cannot under take to state to you one half...I want you to come up as quick as you can and put her to rights…Your cotton here is coming up if we could get a good rain I would have a good stand in 2 days, we are wanting rain very much. I wish you to double your bet about the cotton crop up here as I believe it to be a safe bet.</i>..” Boldly penned and signed. 11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
