AFTER CHARLES BIRD KING (1785-1862) “TSHUSICK, AN OJIBWAY WOMAN”. Colored lithograph published by F. W. Greenough, Philadelphia shows an Indian woman dressed in Victorian finery seated next to small table. Legend dated 1838. “Drawn, printed and colored at I. T. Bowen’s Lithographic Establishment”. Found to be a con artist, this woman fooled all of America for a number of years. Housed in a fine gesso decorated replacement frame with double matte and inner gold lining. SIGHT SIZE: 17” x 12-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-27117
