AFRICAN FRENCH CAMEROON BEADED ''HOUSE''
AFRICAN FRENCH CAMEROON BEADED ''HOUSE'': We are not sure actually what it is and or its origination. Have been told it originated in French Cameroon (before 1961), but this small four-side pitched/hip roof ''House'' appears to be some sort of worship center. The ''house'' is covered in a profusion of multicolored tiny sewn beads, literally thousands, containing various ethnic figures such as snakes, face masks, cross-bones, and lizards. Ethnic symbolism continues down the three enclosed sides to the bottom. The one open side features linen. Hand stitched interior. The interior itself contains dolls and other ''deities''. Estimated early 20th century. 25'' square x 40''H.
