ADVERTISING ILLUSTRATION FOR DELAVAL SEPARATOR COMPANY, (AMERICAN SCHOOL, CA. 1940s-1950s).
Oil on canvas, unsigned. Graphic image of a delivery man with a DeLaval pin, in his truck. In the style of advertising images by Norman Rockwell. 28öh. 20öw., in a black painted frame, 33 1/2öh. 25 1/2öw.

Most likely done for one of many calendars published by the DeLaval Separator Company. Founded in 1883 by Gustav De Laval, inventor of the first centrifuge separator, the company began publishing calendars in 1903. These calendars, given to customers, included work done by many artists including Norman Rockwell.

Large format calendars for dealers were first produced around 1912 and ran through the 1950s. Most likely this is an example of artwork for one of these dealer calendars.
