ADOLF HITLER AND RUDOLPH HESS: An unusual A.L.S. of Rudolf Hess written in pencil on a postcard, undated but cancelled in Cologne on November 9th 1930, to Hitler's personal photographer and intimate friend HEINRICH HOFFMAN, also signed with sentiment in the margin by ADOLF HITLER as well as by an unidentified third individual, likely another prominent member of Hitler's entourage. Addressed by Hess to "Hein and Henny Hoffman" (Hoffman and his daughter Henny) at "Photo Haus Hoffman, Munich", Hess writes: "Dear Hein And Henny: We have had bad weather upon landing in Cologne. Tomorrow we are to go to Frankfurt. Hopefully everything will go well and we will have a pleasant flight!...". In the left margin Hitler has signed the card: "Herlz. Gruss, Adolf Hitler". Hoffman had been an intimate personal friend of Hitler since the beginnings of the Nazi Movement. It was in Hoffman's studio, to which this postcard was mailed, that Hitler was introduced to one of Hoffman's employees, Eva Braun. Henny Hoffman, Hoffman's daughter, would eventually marry Hitler's Youth leader, Baldur von Shirach. At the time of this card, Hitler was furiously traveling throughout Germany in a bid to win the elections in 1932. An association piece bringing together some of the most intimate members of Hitler's inner circle. Small tear affects three words in text, a few minor creases, otherwise good to very good condition. $700-900
