ADOLF HITLER: (1889 - 1945) Fuhrer of Germany and Nazi Party leader, Hitler's bloody rise to power, his military seizure of most of Europe and North Africa and his genocidal racial policies culminated in suicide in his Berlin bunker as Russian troops approached. An outstanding, exceedingly rare photo signed by Hitler while in captivity at Landberg Prison. The photo, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" b/w portrays Hitler from mid-chest, up, a Nazi Party pin affixed to his lapel, with the future dictator bearing a rather arrogant expression. Across his suit he has signed in full: "Adolf Hitler", adding in German: "'High treason trial' Munich (War School) March 1924". Fine condition. In the "Beer Hall Putsch" of November, 1923, Hitler attempted to seize power in Bavaria by capturing its capital, Munich, and set out from there to Berlin. The putsch failed, Hitler was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison. He obtained a pardon in December 1924 after serving only nine months. However, these were pivotal times for Hitler, as while in prison he wrote his manifesto "Mein Kampf". $4,000-6,000

<p>2.) This auction will be held in two parts. Part I (Lots 1-415) will
begin at 1:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, March 29, 2003. Part II (Lots 600-1550) will begin at Noon Eastern Time on Wednesday, April 2, 2003. However, you may bid at any time prior to the sale dates.
<p>3.) There is a 17.5% Buyer's Premium charged on the final hammer price
of
each lot. Lots purchased through our website (alexautographs.com) or by any other means other than the icollector.com or ebayliveauctions.com bidding service are not subject to this additional fee.

significantly from the item¹s actual condition; such returns must be made within three (3) days of purchaser¹s receipt of the lot(s). All returned lots must be in the same condition as shipped. All items are in very good condition unless stated otherwise. Items housed in frames have not been examined outside of the frame. Lots which bear defects or damage not visible because of framing will not be subject to return.
