Offered here is an extremely rare AC/DC 12" 45 rpm white-label test pressing for the “Thunderstruck” single, marked “Sample Ten” on the center label and carrying handwritten color-mix notes (“blue / red / yellow”) that correspond to the unique pastel marble effect visible in the vinyl. The plain sleeve includes a handwritten note stating, “This is the only one in existence of this color scheme,” with file tabs reading “ACD12TH 25520 / BLUE RED YELLOW.” This pressing features “Thunderstruck” and “Fire Your Guns” on Side One, and “D.T.” and “Chase The Ace” on Side Two, tracks tied to the 1990 UK 12" issue of Thunderstruck (Atco/Albert; cat. nos. B 8907 T / 7567-96427-0).
This disc comes directly from the personal archive of AC/DC historian and archivist Aaron Baker, who assembled one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of the band’s vinyl, test pressings, and memorabilia. Baker was known for preserving unique production samples such as this one, making this record not only a one-of-a-kind artifact due to its singular color scheme, but also part of a respected and well-documented private archive.
This pastel tri-color pressing is the only known example in this configuration, underscoring its exceptional rarity.
