This U.S. promotional-only 7-inch single of AC/DC’s “Problem Child” was issued by ATCO Records in 1977 under catalog number 7086. Marked “Promotion Copy – Not For Sale,” the release features the track in mono on one side and stereo on the other, a standard format for radio distribution. Written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott, “Problem Child” originally appeared on the Australian edition of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap in 1976 and later on the international release of Let There Be Rock. Produced by Harry Vanda and George Young, the song became a staple of the Bon Scott era and showcased the band’s raw, hard-edged rock sound. This promotional pressing was intended to boost radio airplay in the U.S., as the track was not widely issued as a commercial single, making it a notable collectible from AC/DC’s formative years on the ATCO label.
