This is an original 1982 AC/DC press release on striking orange “News” letterhead announcing four newly added London concert dates in response to unprecedented public demand. Dated April 19, 1982, the memo outlines the extension of AC/DC’s British tour, culminating in four nights at London’s iconic Hammersmith Odeon, one of the band’s favorite venues. The newly added dates, October 13th through 16th and were promoted by MCP, with tickets available starting August 25th.

Adding a layer of historical significance, this particular copy features a handwritten note at the top reading: “Perry ~ F.Y.I. Bob.” The note is from Bob Greenberg, a top executive at Atlantic Records and a major force in rock music promotion, especially in the 1970s and ’80s. Greenberg played a key role in supporting AC/DC’s rise in the U.S. and U.K. markets. The note was addressed to Perry Cooper, Atlantic’s Vice President of Artist Relations and the label’s liaison to AC/DC. Cooper was instrumental in the band’s success, famously receiving a Gold Record award for High Voltage and serving as one of their earliest champions at the label.

This document not only chronicles a pivotal tour expansion during the band’s post-Back in Black momentum but also serves as an authentic behind-the-scenes snapshot of two key Atlantic Records figures who helped shape AC/DC’s global trajectory.
