This is an original 6" x 8" black-and-white press photograph of AC/DC, showing the band, Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd, posed outside “Studio Three.” The image itself was taken during the recording sessions for the landmark 1980 album Back in Black, the band’s first with Brian Johnson and one of the best-selling albums of all time. Two years later, Syndication International issued this same photograph as part of a press kit in February 1982 to promote the U.K. release of the single “Let’s Get It Up” from For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). The reverse of the photograph bears the Syndication International stamp and caption referencing the single’s release. This dual connection makes it a rare and historically significant piece, tying AC/DC’s monumental Back in Black sessions to their continued chart dominance in the early 1980s.
