This is an original French gold sales award for AC/DC’s landmark album Back in Black. Measuring approximately 15.5" x 18", the award was presented to drummer Phil Rudd to commemorate sales of more than 100,000 copies in France. Issued in September 1980 and certified by S.N.E.P., the award features a gold-toned record with the Atlantic Records label mounted above a plaque that includes the Back in Black album artwork and official sales certification details. Presented directly to a member of the band, this piece represents both the global success of one of the best-selling albums of all time and a rare, early-era band-personalized award.
