This extremely rare 7” Australian promotional single was produced as a “Sample Recording” and is stamped “Sample Recording – Not For Sale – For Record Review and Demonstration Purposes Only.” The record features two tracks: Side A, “Flick of the Switch,” which is taken from the album Flick of the Switch (APLP-061). The song is written by Young/Young/Johnson, produced by AC/DC, and engineered by Tony Platt. It carries the catalog number AP-1159A, has a play time of 3:09, and is issued under the Albert Productions label, clearly marked as a Sample Recording for review and demonstration purposes only.

On Side B is “Badlands,” also from the album Flick of the Switch (APLP-061), written by Young/Young/Johnson, produced by AC/DC, and engineered by Tony Platt. It has the catalog number AP-1159B, a play time of 3:34, and is similarly issued by Albert Productions with identical “Sample Recording” markings.

The single comes housed in its original EMI sleeve, which prominently features “Sample Recording” text and was manufactured and distributed by EMI Records Australia. The sleeve also includes additional logos from Capitol Records, RAK, and Liberty, adding to its unique presentation. Promotional items like this are highly sought after by collectors due to their exclusivity and limited distribution. The “Sample Recording” stamp and handwritten markings strongly suggest that this copy was distributed internally for band and record company use only, further solidifying its rarity and historical significance.
